Probably the best way to sample some motorsport relatively cheaply is by visiting a local kart track. This section of the site is for shots me and my son at various karting tracks in our area.

Bristol has 2 tracks, we tried West Country Karting were you get half an hours track time for £25 each (worth every penny!). It was my sons first time at a dedicated kart track (previously sampling fun fair karts) and he did really well. I've got to be honest, though, and cant hide from a few "Competitive Dad" moments! The track is quite basic but fast. Entries to the corners are bumpy, particularly at the hairpin after the start/finish line. Being an outdoor track you take your chances with the weather - if it rains the racing continues and if it gets dark then theres floodlights to ensure racing is safe at night. We're going to try the indoor track at Avonmouth soon so keep checking back for more images.
